With childcare costs exceeding $20,000 annually, CFN is on a mission to help. 👏
Our Preschool Pilot Program aims to stabilize families, strengthen early education access, and support local employers who depend on a reliable year-round workforce. A strong community starts with investing in early childhood education.
We cannot wait to see what the future holds for this program as we support families in the short term and demonstrate the impact and feasibility of a locally tailored preschool subsidy model that could be adopted through municipal funding beginning in FY28.

Through our variety of scholarship funds, we are able to award more than $90,000 in scholarships each year, helping local students further their education.

Meet our Executive Director, Sunny Daily. 👋
Sunny Daily has been a passionate advocate and community builder on Nantucket since moving to the island from Kansas in 2003 with her husband and two young children. For more than two decades, she has dedicated her work to helping families thrive, strengthening local systems of care, and fostering the connections that make Nantucket a resilient community.
As Executive Director of the Community Foundation since 2023, Sunny brings a collaborative spirit and systems-level thinking to her leadership. She works across sectors to listen deeply, build relationships, and spark innovative solutions to some of the island’s most pressing challenges. Her focus is on bringing nonprofit leaders, donors, and community members together to share resources, align efforts, and strengthen Nantucket for all who call it home.
Deeply grateful for all the island has provided her and her family, Sunny is committed to giving back so that others can experience the same sense of belonging and support. We thank Sunny for her dedication to our community and the Community Foundation for Nantucket. We couldn't do it without her! 💛
