Last week, the CfAT crew had a bit of fun disassembling disposed aircraft chairs as part of our partnership with the University of Melbourne's Engineering Faculty Repurposing project. βοΈπΊ
ππΎ The Engineering students from UniMelb have been working with the crew to develop resources that provide them with a framework for understanding the properties of different parts of disposed material, that they can then design into new products that provide solutions to identified needs of people living in remote communities.
There were a lot of ideas thrown around, and the crew will continue working with the students to refine the resources, as well as developing prototypes of products that address the needs of regional and remote living! πͺπΎππΎ
@melb_uni@feitunimelb
Last week our crew had a special visit from our friends at the University of Melbourne Engineering Faculty, who were in town to help us understand and apply engineering theory to repurposing of waste material.
ππΎ The students are working on creating resources that help our crew to apply the Repurposable Attribute Basis (RAB) framework to waste material we come across at work or on communities, that we can then repurpose to address community needs. We found some old washing machines laying around on the site to use for practice.
While still in the early stages, we're looking forward to continuing this partnership into the future so our crew can build their confidence and capacity in applying engineering theory into their day to day work! πͺπΎ
Thanks again to the @unimelb@feitunimelb Faculty of Engineering & Information Technology for working with us! Looking forward to the next visit! ππΎ
ππΎ Our crew was happy to support the LEGENDARY Rayleen Brown at @kungkascancook this week with Test & Tag for her deadly office and storefront on Smith Street.... we were lucky to get a peek behind the scenes of Rayleen's products and packaging process - what a great example of Aboriginal enterprise! ππ‘π₯οΈ
It was also a great opportunity for our younger crew to get some training in Test & Tag as we continue to grow our commercial services across central Aus! πͺπΎπ οΈ

So deadly to see our subsidiary CfAT Satellite Enterprises finding innovative ways to create career pathways for Aboriginal people in technology, and strengthening the security of big organisations. ππΎπ₯³
ππΎ They are helping IT teams in big organisations with extensive network testing (penetration testing) that helps them to FIND unknown weak points in their networks, FIX them with step-by-step guidance, and VERIFY that the weaknesses have been patched.
Having strong partnerships with technology platforms like Horizon3.ai allows CfATSE to train Aboriginal staff in different career pathways in technology, and make sure that the IT teams they help can sleep well at night πππ΄
