a drawing inspired by a recent trip to Dunbar with my Mam🥰
This wasn’t done on location (it was February, it was cold) but it meant that I got to take my time and add a little more detail than usual ~ always good to mix things up
A rare sunny day in Edinburgh!
January and February have draaaagged
Luckily, I’ve had a few exciting indoor projects to keep me busy, but so looking forward to more days like this and to getting out and about☀️
Though a very unsettled time for me, October and November also had all these lovely moments! - highlights include trips to Alnmouth and Madrid, my 28th birthday and quite a few drawings of trees

‘Pittenweem Harbour’ ~ Oil pastel on paper
Drawing from a recent autumnal trip. My first time exploring East Neuk and it was absolutely gorgeous! Highlights include a dip in the tidal pool, browsing Crail Pottery and finding a (veeery tiny) ammonite on St Monans beach 🍂🐚

‘On my second day at Mawddach, my Tesco food shop arrived, along with the fear of getting started. I drew the breakfast on my plate, the view beyond the studio window feeling too big and beautiful to tackle just yet.’ - Cerys Scorey

My first attempt at a reel! And a painting I’ve been working on throughout my time at @mawddachresidency
I don’t often work from photograph in this way, but slowing down and taking care over each detail and each layer kind of reflects my state of mind and how peaceful I’ve found being here ☺️
