Submitted nearly a year ago, confirmed a couple months ago and had a good while to reflect. Completing a PhD was way more anti-climatic than I would have anticipated. I wouldn’t say PhD itself was difficult but the processes (failed experiments) really challenged my mental heath and this time last year I was mega depressed and grateful to look back and realise I am out of it, while when you’re in it it’s hard to imagine not ever being an anxious depressed mess again. Also writing a thesis isn’t fun.
Moved to Sydney not knowing anyone and safe to say I know have the most amazing life here. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I am so grateful of the friendships and memories I’ve made over the last 5 years. Thank you to everyone who helped make Sydney home and made my PhD bearable. ❣️
