If you’ve been to the restaurant over the past couple years chances are, you’ve met both or either of these gentlemen. They are both on the floor in the front of the house typically but for the rest of May you can catch them on the stage.
@capereptheatre presents the 25th anniversary of “9 Ball” written and directed by Art Devine. Tickets can be purchased through the
@capereptheatre website.
Jimmy Sawyer (Brad Coyne/Officer Price/Bully/Roy/O’Connor) is delighted to make his return to the Cape Rep stage after a 10 year hiatus. You may have seen him in productions at Cape Rep like Peter & the Starcatcher, Jerusalem, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Lyle, the Crocodile & 9-ball. Jimmy has spent the last 8 years performing in NYC comedy clubs opening for acts like Michael Rappaport, Mark Normand, & TJ Miller. He would like to thank his Cape Rep family for always being a special place for artists. There’s no place like home.
Hugo William Ceraldi (Baker/Convict/Bully/Paul/Army Recruit) is 17 years old and has been acting consistently for the past 5 years. The theatrical arts remain his single greatest passion, and with that he plans to continue in the pursuit of making that his lifelong career. Though this is his first professional show at Cape Rep, he has been involved in its YoCo program for 4 years, most notably last year in This Restless House as Agamemnon. He’d like to thank his family for supporting him in his art and the 9-Ballcompany for making this amazing and terrifyingly relevant show.
Summary
The year is 1967. Over a game of pool, two young men swap identities. One goes to prison; the other to war. Inspired by true events and pulsating with the sights and sounds of the late 1960s, 9-Ball was Art Devine’s hugely successful first play at Cape Rep and is being brought back for its 25th anniversary!
***CONTENT ADVISORY: This production is set during the Vietnam Era and deals with mature themes of violence and war, including language, loud noises and battle sounds. It is not recommended for children.*** photo credit Bob Tucker / Focalpoint Studio &
