Simply The Greatest Ever… How can I say thank you enough when I’ve been driving so far off of gas you put in my tank as a youngin! Too many nights till 1am over a glass of wine and still trying to pull one more story or jewel out of you. Too many “First” in my life to list them all… First time at the White House, first bottle of Creed, I really thought rich people just smelled like that Lol! Our first meeting was scheduled for 30mins and five hours later we were still talking sitting under all those Grammys staring down at me. :) That was the first day I ever felt comfortable in this industry. You told me I was an alien then showed me where all the other aliens dwell.. Rod Temperton, David Foster, Clarence and Jackie Avant, John McClain, Benny Medina and so many others. You poured so freely into so many of us and asked nothing in return except that we “don’t stop till we get enough!” Rest well King! you live on in us all.. I wouldn’t expect anything less than the fight you put forth over the last three months, but God decided he didn’t want you in any more pain. I love you dearly Dad, you were an unsung hero who preferred to play the background, but you lead by example. You came into my life when I was just three years old and we were in the projects of North Philly.. God sent you because you were the exact father and role model that we needed. You led by example with hard work, love and consistency. I am forever grateful for the belief you had in me as well as the love and respect you had for my Mother and this entire family. Although we prayed for a different outcome, I want you to know that it is well Dad.. You made it home this week just four days before what would have been your 89th birthday.
