The Rowland Theatre is a historic cinema gem in Philipsburg, PA... and we've been collaborating with the Rowland since our first year at the Centre Film Festival, in 2019! In addition to weekly movies, they host a number of other events including "Dinner and A Movie" and the "Paragon Ragtime Orchestra" accompanying a silent film. Get behind the scenes at this historic theatre right here in our backyard, meet Kevin Conklin one of the keepers of the theater's history ... and come join us at the Rowland for the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra presents Charlie Chaplin's "The Gold Rush"!

Two weekends ago, I returned to Penn State University (where I got my film production degree) to screen @teseguireshortfilm at the @centrefilm fest and it felt pretty rad coming back here 100 years later to screen a film. I got to catch up with an old film professor and current film students showed me around the program’s new media center - they have access to so much more equipment today because Don Bellasario, the creator of Magnum PI and JAG, donated $30 million dollars in 2017. Thank you @palinkapictures for programming us and having us open for @aliceheartfilm , an excellent feature by @mikemacera 🤘I drove to PSU from Toronto and stopped at a Sheetz and was reminded that Wawa is better, like I needed a reminder?!?
We had a great turnout at recent preview screenings of “The American Revolution” in partnership with @psuabington and the @centrefilm . We were honored to be joined by a panel of historians at both events, including Friederike Baer of Penn State Abington, who shares her expertise in the new Ken Burns film.
