Don’t mess with Central Texas Cyclery. With that said, I caught this loser that broke into my shop and roughed him up before the cops arrived. but unfortunately he, or an accomplice of his, managed to get away with one bike. Keep an eye out for a Medium neon Yellow Scott Scale 970. [UPDATE bike was recovered later that morning]
Just upgraded the showroom Terratrike Rambler to a Gemstone blue. Terratrike has discontinued and sold out on the royal yellow and salted grass colors. Come by, test ride and maybe grab a gemstone before they’re gone!
In a small industrial park of South Austin, sandwiched between a construction office and a machine shop, there lives a small dream that recently came to fruition.
@centraltxcyclery opened in December 2024, marking a historic first for Austin as its first and only black-owned bike shop. Central Texas Cyclery carries TerraTrikes, which are tricycles that enable older people and disabled people to cycle. This inclusive shop is owned by Girmawi James, a rad young dad from Pearland, Texas.
Cinthia Pedraza(@_chiller_whale ) had a chance to sit down with Girmawi and ask him how this shop came to be. Read the interview over at TheRadavist.com…
Just upgraded this Terratrike Rover Tandem to an E-recumbent for the bike club at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Tuned up and all ready for next semester of bike clubs.
Holiday Sale: 10% off anything off the Tinsel Christmas tree. Now until the end of December or whenever I feel the appropriate time to take down a Christmas tree.
Come celebrate the 1 year anniversary of the opening of Central Texas Cyclery. Grab a hotdog and have a beer. Maybe some birthday cake? A year has gone by fast. Here’s to many more here at CTC. RSVP Facebook and Partiful link in bio.
Ghisallo will be tabling at Central Texas Cyclery this upcoming Saturday from 4:30pm-6:30pm! Expect some free music and free food/drinks, as well!
CTC is located off of busy Burleson Road (5214 Burleson Road, Suite 108) and is hosting Daylight Savings Fest as a way to promote safer driving and shared roads for cyclists and pedestrians.
Remember that the time change means that it will get darker sooner so cyclists should be prepared with lights at dusk and drivers should slow down when passing cyclists on the road.
