Council ran aerodrome training in April for Atitjere and Ti Tree staff to strengthen care of community airstrips. Fourteen maintenance team members completed an Uncertified Aerodrome Course delivered by Owen Scott. The shortened course, drawn from the Aerodrome Reporting Officer curriculum, covered safety principles, serviceability inspections and operational duties for uncertified aerodromes, blending industry best practice with local discussion. On-site sessions let participants apply theory—walking strips, working through scenarios and focusing on local management needs. The under 15s AFL Comp Kicks off on Saturday 9 May.
The Yuendumu Hub includes teams from Yuendumu, Nyirripi, Willowra, and Yuelamu. In Ti Tree, teams from Ti Tree, Atitjere, Engawala, and Laramba are battling it out. Winners from these hubs will face off in the grand final after three rounds. Lajamanu has two teams - Lajamanu Red and Lajamanu Blue - competing in the Lajamanu Hub.
