Middle school students have been hard at work on their Chicago vintage signage project- a tribute to the craftsmanship behind historic signs and the importance of preserving these cultural artifacts.
Each student selected a piece of signage they found interesting, bringing new life and appreciation to these iconic designs.
We hope our fellow Chicagoans find their work as meaningful and beautiful as we do. The artwork will be displayed in the school later this week, so if you’re in the building, be sure to stop by and take a look!

Opened in 1899, Central Camera is the oldest camera store in Chicago, holding it down for over 100 years! 🫡
This store was burned down in 2020 during widespread demonstrations but with thanks to their commitment and love of the game, the store reopened and has gotten back to being Chicago’s oldest camera store as well as one of the oldest stores in the city in general!
