The Central Baltic Programme is joining the 17th EUSBSR Annual Forum held in Tallinn and bringing together governments, cities, visionaries, policymakers, researchers, and civil society leaders with a shared mission: to jointly address the region’s most pressing challenges through stronger cross-sectoral cooperation, smarter coordination, and bold innovation.
The days are filled with several sessions and the Central Baltic Programme had a wonderful opportunity to host a breakout session on building resilient border communities. Many thanks to Marek Kohv from the International Centre for Defence and Security for delivering the keynote speech in this session.

🌍 Happy Earth Day from the Central Baltic region!
We fund projects across Estonia, Finland, Latvia and Sweden, and many of them are doing remarkable things for our shared environment.
Ghost nets pulled from the seafloor. Overgrown coastal reedbeds turned into bio-based materials. Old textiles repaired, reused, reimagined. Cleaner coasts, healthier waters, smarter use of resources. And so forth!
We have funded more than 160 projects soon, 28 of them have completed by now with results available on our website!🌿

🚲 Cycle4Climate — testing what actually gets people out of cars and onto bikes in Espoo, Gävle, Pärnu, and Riga.
⚓ Sustainable Flow — cutting emissions at seven Baltic ports through renewable energy and smarter operations.
🌾 BalticReed — harvesting overgrown coastal reeds to reduce nutrient pollution and create sustainable bio-based materials.
♻️ Waste to Value — building circular solutions that turn residual materials into new resources across the region.
