🌟 Exciting Visit from Donaghey Primary School! 🌟
Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming the bright young minds from Donaghey Primary School to our cement plant! 🏫🚛 The students got an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how we operate, learn about the importance of sustainable practices in the cement industry, and discover how our team works hard to keep things running smoothly.
It was a fantastic opportunity for the next generation to learn about the industry and get inspired by the incredible work that goes into producing quality cement. 🏗️🔍
A big thank you to the teachers and students of Donaghey Primary School for joining us. We hope you had as much fun as we did! 🌱💡

Environmental change is inevitable, CEMCOR has already began its journey towards a low carbon future.
HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) represents a viable & sustainable option for CEMCORs quarry off- road engines, providing environmental benefits without sacrificing performance.
GO HVO were instrumental in providing sustainable fuel at the perfect time, a time when CEMCOR replaced their entire quarry off- road vehicles, these vehicles operate using HVO.
As demand for cleaner fuel grows, HVO is expanding, leading to cleaner, greener operations.
CEMCOR are on a path to reach net zero.
With GO, we can make a difference.
Setting the standard in operational efficiency
Our new fleet of quarry equipment is playing a huge role in our ongoing decarbonisation journey. Finning UK and Ireland have supplied us with seven new machines, each boosting productivity at our limestone quarry at Cookstown while reducing fuel consumption and minimising carbon emissions. In addition to the first state-of-the-art, electric-drive Cat 988 XE wheel loaders to arrive on the island of Ireland, we have also invested in three Cat 775 off-highway trucks, as well as a Cat 352 ME excavator and Cat D4 dozer.
All the new machines have the latest in-built technology features, including automated payload weighing, which reduces fuel use by avoiding extra trips and unnecessary adjustments. The machines also support site safety with proximity and overload warning systems, tyre pressure monitoring, and automated braking. Moreover, CEMCOR have partnered with GO Fuels to run the new fleet on hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) biofuel, reducing net carbon emissions by up to 90%.

It was brilliant to have A-Level Business Studies students from Cookstown High School this week. The students were given a tour of the plant and then discussed how their studies relate to real-world applications.

Day 5 for The Flyin’ Lions brings a very scenic but challenging 95 mile run from Belfast to Ballycastle along the coast and over Torr head.
The team have done a fantastic job so far and are now approaching the home straight. Before leaving on Sunday, we caught up with the guys to get their thoughts on the challenge ahead. There was also a great turnout from family, friends and work colleague to see them off on their travels.
Not only are the team approaching the final stages of their challenge but also now getting very close to achieving their £25k target!
