His music explores themes of imagining a better future, feeling like an outsider to humanity, or otherwise immersing the listener in some indescribable vibe. For the workshop portion of the night, Astrolope will be performing an ambient modular set—patching his hardware synthesizer live in an exploratory improvisational context, offering a physical contrast to the software that anchors the evening. Inspired by video game soundtracks, psychedelic music, and countless sub-genres of electronica, Astrolope’s music is a big colorful mess. cellsync is the musical project of Toronto based new media artist Alison Clark. Inspired by the unique perspective of machines and of realities isolated within sensor data, Alison creates tracks which reshape the sounds around her into new alien forms. The sixth and final cacophony is coming March 22nd! 10:00 - 12:00 at the Tranzac in the Southern Cross Lounge Dsouziate x cellsync Erin Corbett x Dorraa Pwyc and notaflof with all proceeds going to the guest artists. Cacophony is a concert series focusing on new and improvised collaborations in electronic music, noise and sound art. Two new duos will be formed each night and the audience will have the rare chance to observe their very early stages of sonic collaboration. Cacophony is the sound of new ideas being formed on the spot. Whether melodic or atonal, it is informed by the unique perspectives of two artists seeking common ground. Through cacophony, connection on the fringe is made un-ignorable.
