Doing this again because last year it lead to so many good recommendations! If we overlap in taste, tell me what you read and loved this year. Compiling recs to maybe start a book club in Brooklyn (want to join?) and also so I have things to read while I spend a few months off ig and reset my little brain.
My favorites this year were Big Swiss, Veronica, Priestdaddy, and Pachinko. Rejection was insane and I loved it. I was disappointed by others: the new Vuong, Martyr!, the new Moshfegh, the new Kushner, all of the sci fi and romantasy (I tried!). Also I still don’t really understand the obsession with Joan Didion…. If you love her, will you explain to me why? ✨
Today marks 15 YEARS in NYC 🖤 lil 22 year old me (last pic) could never have guessed my life here would be so full of love and friendship and making art and seeing art and music and inspiring projects and beautiful people and so much more. I like to leave to travel but I am always, always, relieved and grateful when I get home. ILY NYC!!
