Centennial E-Sports 3rd Best in the State
The Centennial E-Sports team wrapped up its season on Saturday, May 2nd, at the State Finals. After a 9-1 season, Centennial beat 4 schools in a row to make it to the State Final. In E-Sports, there are no divisions, so Centennial beat private schools, schools twice their size, and even semi-professional players to make it to the semi-final match at Grand Canyon University’s E-Sports Arena. With professional announcers, a nationally streamed game, and college scouts on hand, CeHS was finally defeated by Copper Canyon to end their season - one win shy of the state title game. We are all extremely proud of these elite athletes. Pictured are seniors Cole Havins, Troy Esber, and Jeremiah Alcaraz during their senior night celebration. Congratulations on an amazing achievement, E-Sports!
Congratulations to Centennial’s fourth-quarter Leaders of the Pack, freshmen Yasmeen Bandak and Miguel Orozco, sophomores Cesar Fuentes Galvez and Rebeca Garcia-Soriano, juniors Hunter Fuller and Jane Richardson, and seniors Cheyenne Smith and Mark Melissa. Centennial teachers nominated and administration recognized these students for exemplifying Centennial’s values of honor, integrity and excellence. Their families visited campus to enjoy a celebratory breakfast courtesy of CeHS Culinary and this video collection of teacher nominations, produced by CeHS Film & TV.
Congratulations to Coach Kaye and Centennial Softball! The Coyotes defeated a tough Casa Grande team 3-1 today in the first round of the AIA State Playoffs! Fifth-ranked CeHS advances to the second round Tuesday in Tucson at #4-ranked Canyon del Oro. The first pitch is set for 4pm and tickets are available on GoFan.co!
