Healthy soil. Healthy food. Healthier people. 🌱 Everything we do at Cegin Hedyn starts with the land. From composting our kitchen waste at the allotment, to growing food for the community kitchen, we’re trying to build a small closed-loop system rooted in care, nourishment, and connection. After seeing the recent footage of pollution in our local waterways shared by the Carmarthen Coracle & Netsmen Association, it feels more important than ever that we protect the soil and rivers that feed us. A huge thank you as well to everyone who supported us at Carmarthen’s Mayor’s Race last week. Serving coffee, cake, and positivity to runners and supporters while running barefoot through town brought us a huge amount of joy and helped raise vital funds for the project 💚 This week at the canteen: 🌿 Tuesday Methi Dal with roasted seasonal vegetables 🌿 Wednesday Soufiko Mediterranean summer stew with Sam’s fresh bread 🍊 Dessert Sticky vegan orange traybake All plant-based. All pay what you can. Come hungry. Bring a friend. Help us grow something beautiful together. @ctcaerfyrddin.carmarthentc @keepwalestidy @bwydsirgarfood @ethicalchef @samisam4044 #Carmarthen

CLIMATE ACTION DAY AT CEGIN HEDYN 🌱 This Monday was a special day of hands-on climate action and wood-fired pizza. This was part of Camau Gwyrdd (Green Steps), a project led by Social Farms & Gardens, supporting people across Wales to take their first steps into climate action. We were well supported by Catrin from the Bwyd Sir Gâr project, and Lauren and Dan from Tir Awel Veg Boxes, who helped shape the day and got people stuck into building upcycled pallet planters. Andrew ran a brilliant composting workshop, explaining how we turn food waste into soil. And I was on the wood-fired pizzas, keeping everyone fed. I hope you enjoy the photos, and remember this space is here for everyone to use and enjoy every Monday. Deri x ⸻ DIWRNOD GWEITHREDU AR YR HINSAWDD YN CEGIN HEDYN 🌱 Roedd dydd Llun yn ddiwrnod arbennig o weithredu hinsawdd ymarferol a pizza wedi’u coginio mewn popty pren. Roedd hyn yn rhan o Camau Gwyrdd, prosiect dan arweiniad Social Farms & Gardens sy’n cefnogi pobl ledled Cymru i gymryd eu camau cyntaf tuag at weithredu ar yr hinsawdd. Cawsom gefnogaeth wych gan Catrin o brosiect Bwyd Sir Gâr, a Lauren a Dan o Tir Awel Veg Boxes, a helpodd i lunio’r diwrnod a chael pobl i ymuno i adeiladu planwyr o baledi wedi’u hailddefnyddio. Cynhaliodd Andrew weithdy compostio gwych, yn esbonio sut rydym yn troi gwastraff bwyd yn bridd. Ac roeddwn i ar y pizza popty pren, yn cadw pawb wedi’u bwydo. Gobeithio y byddwch yn mwynhau’r lluniau, a chofiwch fod y gofod hwn yma i bawb ei ddefnyddio a’i fwynhau bob dydd Llun. Deri x #carmarthen
