I didn’t build Ophil from a business plan. I built it because I was in pain – arthritic joints, depression, anxiety, and the spaces I tried made things worse, not better. I found yoga. I found Pilates. I started healing not completely, not without ongoing management, but enough. Enough to teach. Enough to see the same in other people. Familiarity is often mistaken for compatibility or loyalty. Sometimes we stay in toxic friendships, spaces or draining relationships because we are used to them. We know the patterns, we know what to expect… but the familiarity feels safe even when it’s actually hurting us. The truth is, you cannot maintain your grace, your inner light if you are constantly using your energy to manage or entertain someone else’s drama. At some point, your peace should become more important than familiarity. Longevity does not equal value, and protecting your peace is the highest form of self-love. .
