It’s been a whirlwind to birth this album as I prepare to actually give birth to TWO humans. Your response to these songs has been so moving for me. Thank you for listening. Wow! Holy mackerel, A LOT has happened in the last seven years since last I got to play with Grizzly Bear. Playing music for people is truly one of the most meaningful things I do in this life. Playing with my band tops all that list for me. I can’t wait for these shows! I hope some of you will try and make it. Not sure how many more shows there will be, so come on out!
To those listening: This is a BAND. This album is the product of four people coming together putting everything they have: Effort, Love, Perseverance, their own Money, Time, Patience, Willingness towards understanding one another, Talent, Tears, the Support of the family and friends around the members of the band. All of that has culminated into one of the most special bands I’ve ever worked with. And what makes me especially lucky is that these men are at their absolute top of their game in every way - where their ability to collaborate and function together with all of their incredible talents combined has made this for all of You to listen to. This album will melt your heart and blow your mind in the same time. I only work with artists that I love their music and them as people. So if this all sounds gushy, or full of hype, it’s because I’m full of hype on these men and the album that they’ve made and Instagram is where we gush about such things. This comes from the bottom of my heart - listen to this album. It’s a celebration of female Hollywood stars, but with a personal twist and also a celebration of women.
I had so much fun creating this record, and it feels very true to where I am in life.
It was a pure joy (and a dream) to work with Chris Taylor @cee_taylor on this record. I knew I wanted a sound that only he could create, especially with his warm production and melodic bass lines (and flute and sax and clarinet and backing vocals)
I feel that I’ve finally created an album that celebrates my love for my all time favourite band; Broadcast.
I hope you’ll love it as much as I do.
