I was thinking of a picture that best sums up motherhood. It’s impossible to find one. But maybe, these two come a tad close. Twenty four hours after delivering her second child, Aissatou Mila posed in this wheel chair with MS in the crib nearby. Power, strength, indefatigable. And tender, caring, loving. Surrounded by even more motherly love- Neneh Jamila her own mum. And my often de facto mum, my elder sister, Hadiatu, who had flown in hours to be there with us five years ago. Second picture is of my own mother, and her own children including our little mama, Jay Bah. To these women who hold my sky and to all mothers who bring us life and love, Happy Mothers Day❤️.

17 years ago today, I was blessed with my highest and most important role and title- DAD. My baby boy Cee Bah Jnr or CJ as they call him at school now, was born. Crazy that it feels like it was yesterday. Last week he went off to prom. And next month he graduates high school and heads to college. He’s still working through his multiple offers and options. I’m proud. Humbled. And grateful. Of him. To him. And to the clan that’s raised him with me. Above all today, , I pray that he continues to be baller- in his chosen sports of soccer and in the game of life. Happy birthday son❤️
