Meet the wonderful jurors of Cohort VI. These talented arts professionals are tasked with selecting a diverse and dynamic group of local artists who are at an inflection point in their work. The magic of The CU's 18-month incubator program starts with these folks. The cohort that they select will grow together, teach each other new skills, collaborate on projects, and create a community that will support them throughout their careers. Thanks to our jurors for their time and consideration! Thinking about applying for Cohort VI? Visit the link in our bio to learn more and get started. /cohort-membership/

Morning After Brunch was a blast! We sipped mimosas and @fcbrewing beer, snacked on breakfast tacos thanks to @central_market and talked up the incredible talent of our cohort V and community artists. The vibrant community and innovative work you saw at Morning After Brunch is possible because of people like you. Consider making a spring gift or joining the Friends of the Cedars Union today to support the art you’ll enjoy tomorrow. Link in bio. If you missed out, mark you calendar for our next open house on May 6th or reach out to schedule a tour. We would love to see you! /support/ 📸 @sheryl.lanzel.photographer

Dead White Zombies presents a new immersive performance installation, BIG BIRD, open May 7-30 in the Boedeker Building at The Cedars Union. Since 2011, DWZ has been producing provocative, boundary-pushing site-specific performances in Dallas’s raw spaces. BIG BIRD is a fully immersive event where the audience is an active participant rather than an observer, moving through five stages or spaces on a ritual journey. The performance is a mix of ritual, theater, installation, and something that defies categorization. Learn more about the project and purchase tickets at the link in our bio. adwhitezombies.com

Last week The CU was thrilled to welcome back students from @untcvad Art Museum Education course for a day of programming pitches. With the help of educator friends from @dallasmuseumart , @dallascontemporary , and @themodernfw we will select one of the programs designed by these talented students to be funded and presented by The CU in the coming months. We also made monotypes with Cohort V artist @anthonyhuangtn and the group produced such a stunning range of one-of-a-kind pieces!
