We are excited to share that CEC Facilities demonstrated exceptional talent and training excellence at the recent statewide
@skillsusa competition in Corpus Christi, TX, with six apprentices competing across two challenging categories, Commercial Basic Wiring and Motor Controls—and bringing home an impressive five medals!
In the Commercial Basic Wiring category, CEC apprentices delivered a standout performance, sweeping the podium. Jose Calzada, a 3rd-year apprentice, earned 1st place, followed by Jason Gannon, a 2nd-year apprentice, in 2nd place, and Sean O'Rourke, also a 2nd-year apprentice, securing 3rd place. Their results reflect both technical precision and strong foundational training.
CEC also excelled in the Motor Controls category. Dalton Andrews, a 3rd-year apprentice, captured 1st place, while Julissa Lopez, a 2nd-year apprentice, earned 2nd place. Angel Dzib, a 1st-year apprentice, also represented CEC in the category, gaining valuable competition experience.
The competition challenged participants with both a written exam and a hands-on practical component, testing their knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and real-world application of electrical skills.
With two gold medalists, CEC Facilities will proudly advance to the national stage, as Jose Calzada and Dalton Andrews prepare to compete at the SkillsUSA National Competition in Atlanta this June.
This achievement highlights the strength of CEC’s apprenticeship program and its commitment to developing the next generation of skilled electrical professionals.
