The Bank of Canada held interest rates today. which wasn’t really a surprise. But the bigger story is what’s happening around that decision.
Inflation expectations are starting to creep up again, for both businesses and consumers, mainly driven by what Canadians are seeing at the gas pump. At the same time, global uncertainty is pushing oil prices higher — which makes the Bank’s job a lot more complicated.
