It's always a treat to get the flyers ready for the BOS year showcasing all 8 of Bath's art trails and open studios, as well as our group exhibitions.
Run on a voluntary basis by artist Ele Nash, Bath Open Studios is a non-profit group representing and promoting all art and craft makers residing in Bath, focusing on those who take part in its eight annual art trails and open studios: 44AD Artspace, Bath Artists’ Studios, Batheaston Art Trail, Bear Flat Artists, Combe Down Art Trail, Larkhall Open Studios, Newbridge Arts Trail, and Widcombe Art Trail.
Bath Open Studios is proud to support local artists, showcasing individual art practices to inspire Bath communities, and provide opportunities to sell and buy unique and original artwork. Bringing together many established and emerging artists provides an opportunity to shine a spotlight on their work, as well as on art trails and open studios.
Which group exhibition, art trail or open studios will you take part in or go to?!

Wishing everyone friendly fun festivities!
Thank you to artist @vikkiyeates who sprinkled a bit of wintry magic and animated her own gorgeous artwork (with the help of AI)
I first exhibited artwork with Bath Open Studios at the Royal United Hospital seven years ago and I remember thinking what a strange choice of venue for an art exhibition. I quickly realised what an amazing honour it is to have artwork in a hospital, enabling a wide mix of people to see and enjoy it. The powerful effect art can have on patients, staff, and visitors is humbling.
Organising this exhibition has been a treat and I am relieved with how it’s all come together with so many artists wanting to take part from Bath’s art trails and open studios. Bath artists are the best!
The artwork, as you can see, is hugely varied, interesting, and affordable - with a third of any sales going to the hospital’s @artatheartruh
Best of all, there are cats! I swear this was unintentional 😌 I’m very proud to have one of my own cat collages included! There is also a delightful cow and elephants amongst the gorgeous landscapes and one-of-a-kind pieces.
I hope you don’t have to visit the RUH anytime soon but if you or someone you know does, that the art on the walls provides a welcome distraction.
My especial thanks to art exhibition’s manager, Tony, for inviting us and hanging it so nicely! And to @katebatesart@christine.watters.7146@mikejcorbett@polly.gough Kelly Preedy @sally_gardiner_ceramics for their kind assistance.

Thank you to everyone for such a wonderful weekend. It was a truly lovely event, with so many people out enjoying the trail — come sunshine or rain!
Thank you to the artists for all your hard work and creativity in bringing the trail to life. What a lot of beautiful artwork you’ve created!
And to our venues, especially to @museumofbathstone@mulberryparkhub@calmer_rooms #bathjewishburialground #peggydoddcentre
A special thanks goes to the extraordinary efforts, kindness, and efficiency of our chief organiser, Natasha Smiljkovic, and our brilliant committee members — Ele Nash, Kathy Pearce, Hilary Strickland, and Vikki Yeates — for everything they did behind the scenes. From designing and printing to advertising, updating the website, putting posters up (and taking them down!), and countless other tasks — we’re all grateful for your tireless efforts.
Also, a big thank you to Sally Jefferies for all her advice and support this year. It’s so great that, from the art trail’s inception with Jeni Wood, it’s continuing to thrive!
We hope you all enjoyed the weekend as much as we did, and we look forward to seeing many of you again next year: our 10th anniversary!!

Wow, what a weekend 😅 Thank you so much to the 250+ people who came to our venue!! You said such nice things, flicked through sketchbooks, bought cards, prints, paperweights, tapestries, and paintings - and many little ones enjoyed our playroom too 😌
I must admit, I was really quite nervous to be in charge this year - though it was nice to give my mum a break! But you made it all very easy so thank you 🤩
Especially thank you to my mum @sallyjefferiesartist for joining me, and @tapestries_by_natasha for including her tapestries and also for tirelessly and graciously organising the whole of the art trail 🫶 There is a lot of work that goes into the two days but the trail success is a credit to you.
And if you did come to our venue, I should mention our cats, both of whom (especially Smokey) greeted everyone very politely - perhaps on some occasions, a little too friendly 😆
If you didn’t make it, and want to see any of the available artwork, do get in touch.
Thank you @cdarttrail ☺️ Hopefully see you all again next year!

Thank you to everyone who came to the first day of the Combe Down Art Trail - around 150 of you!!
It’s wonderful seeing the community and art lovers walking around the village carrying new artwork and enjoying the pleasant sunshine too!
And thank you to our 40+ artists for taking so much care of your venues and spaces, creating a welcoming, friendly, and inspiring atmosphere.
As you can see, the Snapshot Exhibition showcasing the artwork of every exhibiting artist, held in the lovely Museum of Bath Stone was an extremely successful addition!
Missed out today? Fear not. We are open again Sunday 14th, 10am - 4pm!!
