Rahma Lhoussig, born in 1996 in Taroudant, Morocco, is a visual artist and graduate of the National Institute of Fine Arts in Tetouan. Her work has been showcased internationally at venues like the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rabat, Tafeta Gallery in London, and the National Museum of Lisbon. She has also participated in major art fairs such as 1-54 Marrakech, AKAA Paris, and ARCOLISBOA Lisbon.
At the core of Rahma’s art lies a deep exploration of memory, dreams, and the unconscious. Her vibrant compositions bring together animals, everyday objects, and fragments of nature, creating surreal yet harmonious worlds that feel familiar and mysterious. Using oil paints, acrylics, pastels, and colored pencils, she translates abstract emotions into sensorial experiences, revealing the hidden layers of the human psyche.
Rahma’s intentionally unfinished pieces reflect the fragmented nature of memory. Figures rest, immerse themselves, or hide behind masks, inhabiting spaces that blur the line between reality and imagination. Animals, flowers, and tools coexist as metaphors for internal conflicts and emotions, shifting her works into the mystical realm of dreams and allegories of the unconscious.
