Painting with vehicle tire prints is an excellent activity for young toddlers because it combines sensory exploration, movement, creativity and early cognitive learning. We’re focusing on developing grasping skills and bilateral coordination as kids push, roll and maneuver the cars through the paint and across the paper. We’re also providing sensory exploration through the texture of wet paint and visually tracking of marks made. Toddlers can quickly discover cause and effect like “different wheels create different patterns”. These are just some of the developmental goals targeted in this type of play!
We’re enjoying the nice afternoon in our shady play yard! Kids spend lots of time outdoors in the natural play yard. 3+ times a day, up to 3 hours daily when the weather is nice! Every class has time in the morning, in the early afternoon and again at the end of the day for pickup.
New Orleans Street music got a group of Juneberry kids pumped up during common room time! The kids took turns selecting different music styles and their favorite instruments to listen to! We got requests for piano and banjos next!
Young toddlers draw on paper using an easel. Using the easel builds core and upper body strength while practicing tracking hand movements with their eyes! We play with purpose! Activities are designed with child development goals in mind!
Toddlers and trains! Our older toddler room frequently takes walking trips in the neighborhood. The train track bridge is a popular stop for this class! #toddler #preschool #westphilly #trains

Older toddler class investigating logs in our natural play yard with magnifying glasses. Using magnifying glasses opens up a whole new world to the kids, seeing textures, colors, small insects, plants or fungus and things they have never seen before. It helps to enrich their language and open their world. #toddlergrowthanddevelopment
