Closed the laptop and ran for the dock yesterday. ⚓️
I was invited to the christening and launch of The Capitol, the newest addition to @nashvilleriverboats , and it was such a beautiful reminder to step away and enjoy Nashville from a different perspective.
The official launch included a traditional christening ceremony, remarks from community leaders, and the ceremonial Tennessee whiskey bottle break by Captain Joy Menthey before we boarded for a brunch cruise along the Cumberland River.
Historic paddlewheel charm, skyline views, live music, good food, and that unmistakable feeling of slowing down for a couple of hours porch swinging on a boat.
Congratulations to the fifth-generation family behind this new river adventure. Nashville’s newest riverboat officially set sail, and it’s a special one.

From all of the stunning runway images the past few weeks, these videos were the ones that stopped me in my tracks. They are the perfect picture to me of why I still love doing this after all these years. It’s always been about the girls.
Indya and I realized that this was our 10th @nashvillesymphony Fashion Show together, but she first captured my heart the minute we met in 2014. Just a few weeks later she was walking in her first Symphony show and the rest is history. So many shared memories and so much life since then. No matter where her adventurous spirit has led, she always comes when I call.
Every young woman has her own story, and I’m honored to have a front row seat to so many of them. Some girls I’ve met at 13, but Indya was in college —and here she is still following her dreams, pushing herself, still growing, and stronger than ever in all areas of life.
Watching my girls do their thing brings me so much joy—the grace, the nerves, the excitement behind those big smiles. But more than that, it’s the relationships, the history, and the family we’ve built over many years that will stay with us forever. If you know, you know.
Getting to watch me watch Indya was an unexpected gift I didn’t know I needed. And I know I had that same watchful eye on every one of them.
I’m one proud mama, and oh so grateful for it. ❤️❤️❤️

A committee from the @communityfoundationmidtn selected Tiki from the largest and most diverse group of experienced fashion industry applicants yet, based on her impressive submission that adhered to specific criteria for the experiential award established by the Nashville Fashion Forward Fund co-founders in 2010.
“Tiki’s fashion experience has covered much ground, but what stood out in her application was her commitment to mentoring and creating community for the next generation during her last decade in Nashville. In 2024, Tiki established Tikivision Style Lab, a sewing and design education studio offering private lessons with ambitious expansion plans centered around education and community-building. Her vision encompasses comprehensive sewing and design education across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, making skills accessible to diverse learners. She aims to showcase Middle Tennessee’s creative talent by featuring local experts in educational projects, foster authentic community connections through storytelling and in-person events, and develop a signature online sewing school with original patterns. Her ultimate goal includes establishing a digital platform that transitions to streaming or network television, amplifying Middle Tennessee’s fashion industry and art scene. Through her work, Tiki bridges traditional craftsmanship with modern media, creating pathways for creative expression while preserving essential skill for future generations. l
