C @ 100KM link in bio 2008/5/12 is a date we will never forget. ... On that day, a huge earthquake in wenchuan of my hometown almost took everything. ... Two months ago I've got involved into an #art project called '100KM' - a group of artists go to a place #100km far from Chengdu city by random directions then do art... This time we went to Hongbai Town - center of the earthquake back in 2008... ... I took my #binaural recorder there and recorded almost everything.. and made my sound work only by these recordings when I got back to my studio... And the #sound #installation called 'C' - meaning to c things without eyes.. ... (@ the exhibition on 12th March 2017 @ Liaoliao gallery I created a big and totally dark space for attenders and sound came out from bluetooth in-ear-earphones, even more, I offered goggles for everyone to make sure it's real dark... it may be the right way to listen to it I guess...) ... PREMIERE : Cvalda - Voluntary Disappearance [GSXS-012] Cvalda is a sound creator from Chengdu, China. Since 2009, her music has been released in multiple countries and on various labels. Her sound language is built upon Dub and sound system culture, with a fragmented rhythm and minimalist structural spirit that always points to the sculpting of a state of consciousness in a more inner space. 「Voluntary Disappearance」is like a shadow in light, silently rotating in the air. Music here is no longer guidance or intervention, but a gentle environment that gradually loosens perception, allowing thoughts to slowly dissipate in the gaps of light and shadow, ultimately merging into a low silence.
