Rethread Designer Spotlight #02 - Matilde Ceccato @cccmtld
We’re lucky to have Matilde in our (Re)thread program, where we transform unswappable garments into thoughtful, one–of–a–kind pieces.
Matilde recently graduated from AMFI and has long understood the impact of fashion’s waste. Through her studies and her time at The Swapshop, she’s become committed to designing with intention, contributing responsibly, and creating without adding to the world’s surplus.
In this BTS, Matilde combines a damaged pair of jeans and shirt, hand sewing them into a unique upcycled creation.
Here’s a look at her process 👀

This outfit was created for the Swapshop Lab launch party and is now available in-store.
It’s made entirely from recycled garments collected through the swapshop. The trousers started as a pair of Lee jeans, with a hand-sewn shirt draped and stitched onto them, turning them into something sculptural and unexpected.
The Pringle sweater was cut apart and reassembled with a shirt, creating new lines and layers.
I wanted to blend streetwear and workwear, to build a hybrid style that feels both raw and refined, practical yet expressive.
Thank you @georgiacarns and @monininique for this beautiful opportunity;)

Look 3 - Clytemnestra
Clytemnestra was the wife of Agamemnon, king of Mycenae. She murdered him upon his return from the Trojan War, seeking revenge for the sacrifice of their daughter Iphigenia.
