Hard to believe that less than two weeks ago we were running from Mount Kilimanjaro to Lake Natron on the @traverse_tanzania@redknot_racing recce race over 5 days. What an incredible event, supporting important local development initiatives, and with the best group of people and Traverse teams. Thank you to Traverse and @mentz_germishuis for making us all look so cool and providing these beautiful memories! I came face to face with a lion (on my own, listening to Beyonce) and ran with giraffes. It was truly one for the books!
Honestly when I signed up and managed to complete the MDS Legendary last year I thought it would be a one and done. But even before leaving Ourzazate I was talking about going back. It’s hard to explain what a unique and special and human experience it is spending multiple days in the desert with a group of strangers and the bonds your form. This version was particularly special in that we ran with partners. The trip would have been so different without @barretbrewster , and he kindly and politely humored me as I proclaimed “wow it’s so beautiful!” every 5 meters and told him to go on without me when I pulled a muscle on the last day (he didn’t). I’m glad to have left with so many new friends and future adventures already in the works. Thank you to @marathondessables for creating these beautiful adventures!!
