SILLYFACEDY
SillyFacedy is a collection that explores the world of mimes and jesters, telling the story of their ironic lightness and silent innocence. It is a tribute to their sweet childishness, to the way they move and echo far from the spotlight, living in a world that is extraordinarily ordinary.
The universe of SillyFacedy originates from a spatial fragmentation of forms, combined with a raw and unsettling use of colours which, in everyday reality, appear instead sterile and absent. It blends the delicate, innocent harmony of Matisse’s paintings.
A fundamental element is the decay of forms: an evolution that starts from essential geometries – diamonds, squares, resets – that seem to want to emerge from the surface and acquire a third dimension. Thus, wool skeins become the beating heart of the garments: masses that appear useless but transform into structural elements, expressing a turbulent, vivid energy.
This collection imagines a foolish, clumsy man, wandering through non-places, accompanied by someone deeply familiar, with whom he can rediscover fragments of his lost soul in intimate moments. He lives with indifference towards the sterile reality he is forced to inhabit, immersed in his inner world.
