2026 Practice (1/13)-Silhouette rendering version
I anticipate having some practice in 2026, starting with a small goal, and the total number will increase if I have time.
I added a line of Mandarin dialogue, dubbed by my friend. The content and delivery were intended to closely emulate Miao Ying, the Storm Dragon, the legendary lord of Cathay from Total War: Warhammer III. In future practice sessions, I might try adding voice acting to some character-focused exercises to enhance the performance.
凡火萤烛 Petty flames and fireflies,

The last rendering exercise of 2025.
Learning, practicing, testing... Time was too tight; there wasn't enough time to achieve the initially envisioned effect. Therefore, filter overlays are used on the image for quick testing.
The rendering quality isn't high either.
As the last rendering test & Practice of 2025, it's still barely acceptable.

A Christmas illustration I finished just in time for the holidays.
It was done over the past few days, so it’s a bit rough, but it was a good exercise.

After several months of production, my animation Resonant will be presented as part of Light Up the Dark at the Aga Khan Museum, alongside a group of talented classmates with diverse styles.
Throughout the preparation process, I was deeply inspired by many outstanding works and continuously refined my own creation. Working alongside classmates with a high level of polish and craftsmanship has been an incredibly valuable experience. This project leans toward experimentation in its content, and I took the opportunity to explore and test a mix of hybrid, diverse styles.

It's still the same practice I did in July during summer with some final minor edits done in the last few days. The scene is shown in a long shot, plus a few other scattered test shots.
The practice, compared to the previous silhouette version, now includes rendered materials. This practice was completed during the summer break in July of this year. The final simple edits were done recently.

Work & Exercise & Learn & Explore & Practice in Digital Fabrication Course
My inspiration came from common crystal lamp keychains, which combine typically engraving with LED lighting effects. Based on this, I conducted some research, exploration, and learning to understand what I needed. I first acquired a crystal lamp keychain on August 13, 2016, when I bought a keychain with a Creeper Girl design from Taobao. This time, I try to make it by myself, imitation crystal lamp keychain. In this way, the keychain is not just an accessory but a miniature scene of festival, memory, and personal narrative—one that can be both touched, seen and smelled when paired with aromatherapy beads.
This piece was created in a course using laser cutting and multiple layers of transparent acrylic sheets.
Files for cutting and engraving were designed in Adobe Illustrator.
However, I couldn't find a better adhesive, so I used glue to join them together, leaving noticeable marks. These are clearly visible up close, but the effect is better from a distance.
I tried learning and designing a "tower"-shaped keychain with an assembly structure. Although the design provides a certain degree of stability after assembly, I used hot melt adhesive to secure it internally to prevent it from falling apart due to impacts, collisions, or drops.
It was close to the Mid-Autumn For the festival at that moment, I included some designs related to celebrating it.
Lighting: An LED light at the top illuminates the engraved surface, creating a vibrant and colorful glowing effect.
Aromatherapy: The interior space can hold diffuser beads of different colors and scents of essential oils, releasing fragrance to relieve stress and fatigue.
Storage: It can store a small amount of individually packaged first-aid medications for convenient daily or emergency use.
Mirror: The detachable acrylic mirror on top can be used as a small mirror.
Decoration: The gold chain that wraps around the keychain makes it a stylish accessory or bag charm.
