SOSTAV is an underground collective founded in Beijing in early 2023, shortly after the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions. Formed by four members of Russian heritage based in China, SOSTAV emerged with a shared vision of fostering raw, boundary-pushing expressions of underground electronic music.
In its first two years, SOSTAV became a vital presence in Beijing’s scene, curating events at iconic venues such as Groundless Factory, Zhao Dai, DADA, and SOLO. Members have performed alongside international acts like Schwefelgelb, Krl Mx, and Vladimir Dubyshkin, as well as Chinese techno pioneers such as Yang Bing, contributing to a dynamic exchange between local and global underground cultures.
Now operating across borders, SOSTAV is focused on its monthly podcast series — curated by DATURÆ and CBGE — which is simultaneously hosted on BAIHUI Radio, an independent platform connecting diverse voices and music communities throughout China and around the world. With an international foundation and a commitment to collaboration beyond borders, SOSTAV continues to connect artists through sound.
