If you’re in Barcelona and near the Sagrada Familia, please stop by @casasanzano and see @rafaelrodriguesbcn , who not only owns and operates this incredible gelato shop, but has also been running Captain Marvel News for 15 years! Have Carol Danvers’ biggest fan serve you a scoop of their award-winning fig & marcapone gelato, their special “Gaudi” with almonds & orange, or the incredible tangerine sorbet. So many flavors to pick from, all excellent. Thanks all your passion and support. Higher, further, faster!

Years ago, back when we came to Barcelona more often, Quimet & Quimet was an old haunt of ours. We’d go in and shop for tinned seafood and wine while lingering over snacks and drinks at the bar. And while over a decade may have passed since our last visit, it was nice to find that Q&Q has not really changed. Strolled in, saddled up and tucked right into plates of anchovies, razor clams, sardines over Andalusian cheese, and dried fish roe. We got emotional sharing old pics with the staff. It was so good to be back! ❤️🇪🇸

Decided to relax yesterday upon our arrival in Barcelona, so went for lunch at Rooftop 173 on the top of the Intercontinental hotel here, known for having some of the best views of the city. And they truly do! Their lunch menu is a mix of international cuisines, but we chose to stay local with gildas, a tomato and tuna salad, and “huevos rotos con jamón”, which are broken eggs with potatoes and Spanish ham. A chill afternoon with good food and great views in near perfect weather. Oh, and a beer with Sagrada Familia in the background. A perfect way to ease back into Barcelona living after so many years away! ❤️🇪🇸 #barcelona #bcn #spain #spanishfood #rooftop #bar #terrace #restaurant #food #foodie #ham #jamon #foiegras #salad #gilda #anchovies #beer #cocktails #chill #afternoon

This beef short rib, curated by Chef Mashama Bailey, is probably one of the tastiest meals I’ve ever eaten on a plane. Served with spiced kanni sauce, garlic-thyme mashed potatoes, roasted carrots, scallions and a nice glass of red. Crazy that we can eat so well up in the air these days. ✈️🥩🍷

Ever want to eat some of the best ramen in the world but couldn’t make it to Tokyo or didn’t feel like waiting in line for hours if you were? Well, now you have an exclusive opportunity to do so, for a whole month, here in NYC! Starting May 15th and running through June 13th, Chef Daisuke Watanabe, the first and only officially authorized disciple of the legendary chef Shota Iida of Ramen Iida Shoten, a lineage unique in the history of Japanese ramen, is doing a pop-up at THE GALLERY by Odo on West 20th St. I was lucky enough to be invited to a preview of this this landmark event, presented by two-Michelin-starred Odo in partnership with Marukome, Japan’s preeminent fermentation authority established in 1854. And I was blown away! This marks the first and only opportunity to taste Chef Watanabe’s ramen in the U.S., where he’ll be serving incredible, modern interpretations of both miso and shio ramen. I don’t want to give too much away, but I’ve eaten ramen in Japan for decades and these were a few of the tastiest bowls I’ve ever experienced. Truly. Watanabe-san handmade “Japanese country noodles” alone are worth the price of admission. I’d eat them plain! There will also be a special side menu of fermented Japanese snacks using shio-koji and miso in traditional ways. Not to be missed. Odo East Village has been the hardest place to book for months… until now… so do yourself a favored and get over to OpenTable and book yourself a seat here at THE GALLERY for the Ramen Feel x Odo x Marukome pop-up! 🔥🗽🇯🇵🍜

Thrilled to announce I’ll be attending Comic Barcelona this coming weekend, May 15-17th! It’s been far too long… over a decade… since me and Marvel have had any kind of presence at the con, so I’ll be doing portfolio reviews, panels, press, signings and photo-ops to make sure I maximize my time with all the Spanish fans. To commemorate my long overdue visit, artists @rafaelperez_art and @niendraws_ have illustrated this amazing artwork of me, the Marvel heroes and some local delicacies! We’ve printed up postcards of the image that we’ll be giving away all weekend, while supplies last. And speaking of gastronomy, of course I’ll be diving into all kinds of Spanish and Catalonian cuisine, thanks to @chefjoseandres @schapplesokol and their team. Thank you! Can’t wait to see you all soon.🥰✈️🇪🇸

Sunday snacks courtesy of our friends Charlotte and Paul who just returned from Australia! Much prefer the Chicken Crimpy flavored Shapes over the Cheese & Bacon, and these sweet & salty TimTam with Jatz crackers are a revelation!

Wonderful dinner at the classic PING on Mott St. last night with family visiting from Tokyo! Everything was excellent but two of the chef’s specials stood out… the razor clams in black bean sauce and the pork jowl with fried whitebait, string beans, garlic and pickled vegetables. Just wow. Won’t make the same mistake of waiting years to go back again. #nyc #newyork #newyorkcity #chinatown #chinesefood #classic #chinese #restaurant #dimsum #seafood #dumplings #shrimp #noodles #pork #roastpork #friedrice #clams #comfortfood #family #dinner

Lovely lunch with Larry Lieber, Marvel legend and co-creator of so many of our classic characters, like Thor, Iron Man and Ant-Man. Larry’s a big fan of the 2nd Ave. Deli and their pea soup, and today I got brisket & turkey on rye with raw onion, schmaltz and thousand island dressing. Left stuffed full of sandwich and stories! #nyc #newyork #newyorkcity #restaurant #deli #lunch #food #foodie #comfortfood #brisket #sandwich #soup #marvel #marvelcomics #legend

I have to say, I was really surprised just how much Shake Shack’s new BBQ rib sandwich resembles the McRib, in both taste and texture. And that’s not a bad thing. I’d just lose the cole slaw and stick with raw onion on top though. Their new mac & cheese was really tasty too. Definitely going to go back and try more of their new summer menu, especially if they’re using the same BBQ sauce on chicken sandwiches! #nyc #newyorkcity #fastfood #restaurant #food #foodie #burger #sandwich #bbq #barbecue #pork #pulledpork #ribs #porkribs #summer #menu #shakeshack #chicken #friedchicken #chickensandwich #comfortfood #limited
