A bit late in posting this but towards the end of last year and the end of the MLS season @elizepequeno and @copa90 took us to Cascadia to document the rise of the @whitecapsfc it was also the firs time for me DOPing a feature length documentary which is a big achievement for myself. Thanks Eli for the opportunity and thanks to everyone who helped contribute to the telling of another great story.

A few months ago @elizepequeno took us on another adventure this time to Catalonia to see UE Sant Andreu as they find themselves climbing up the Spanish football pyramid. ‘Bonneville Salt Flat Jive’ has been a rollercoaster of a project, with a lot of learnings. We faced a lot of difficulties on this one that I can’t even begin to name. The video is inspired by the centre piece of the boy’s upcoming album artwork by @louis_gilbert_ which takes inspiration from each song and a David Lynch-esque scene. Check it out over on @balancingactband ’s YouTube, listen to the song on all streaming platforms and go preorder their debut album ‘Who’ve you come as?’. It was around midday on a random Tuesday a few weeks ago when I got a call from Kai and Jackson. “Fancy going to the pub?” they asked. Naturally, I said, “Yes, of course.” Then Kai dropped the real agenda: “We’re gonna plan a video.” Classic bait and switch. When I showed up, he laid out the idea. We spent the next few hours sinking pints and bouncing around concepts until a proper narrative took shape. What followed was three chaotic days of pre-production, featuring questionable scheduling, mild panic, and everyone somehow pulling it together just in time.
 This is what came out of that beautiful mess. Enjoy.
