An old italian man just sold me these cherries. He said “Taste and see. The best deal on cherries. I’ve been buying from the same place for 12 years. They are good.”
Barbara Jane. The most intelligent, curiously happy and snarky at the same time, and the wisest of women, or of anyone, i’ve ever met. No one understands why we were so lucky to have her in our family. It felt like a space creature had invaded the living room at times, because an unearthly amount of love and fire poured out of her so fluently. She’d take her kids to school and ride her horse all day (or motorcycle or airplane). She taught me how to ride, to debate, to love adventure, to experience deeply, to treat most days like an improv stage, and to do whatever the hell else I wanted. I’ve never seen a bigger smile, or anyone less afraid of saying what others wouldn’t.
It’s been two months today since I released the ep I featured her on and i’m so glad she got to hear it before she left. I’ll write another for you soon. I love you. Thank you for being here. June 25, 1938 - April 5, 2026.
My final piece to release this week is the official video for the heaviest song on the EP, Vinyl on The Table. Thank you for watching and holding it with me. You know where to find it.
