We are so grateful to Dr Patricia for swooping in to help this weekend 🙏 After subcutaneous fluids and an appetite stimulant, she finally ate a full meal this afternoon!!
She’ll be on meds for a few weeks to stave off an infection, and she needs to put on some weight. We’ll then get her vaccinated and spayed.
We’d initially planned to spay and release her, but - even through not feeling well - this little one purred and loved the affection, and it was clear she’s an absolute sweetheart. So, once she’s well we will look for a furrever home.
Her name is “Mavka”, an ethereal forest nymph in Ukrainian folklore 💫 🐈⬛

Rescued and fostered by Paula here on the island, a new chapter in lives of these two super sweet 7-month old brothers began today.
Thanks to generous fosters Ali and Nadia, Nyx & Cosmo will no longer live in a cage and can get a chance at a wonderful life. And thanks to volunteers Stephanie and friend who are mid-air now, they will be home in the Netherlands soon.

Happy adoption day to Hazel ✈️ 🛥️ 🌎
And, what a journey it is! Hazel’s family is moving and not able to take her with them. And, as heartbreaking as that is, they did well by her in wanting to get her to a good new home.
We helped find a loving family - who lives on a boat. Hazel’s mum escorted her all the way to Terceira this morning, to bring Hazel to her new furrever family.
An unconventional life? Yes! But one that will be filled with love and adventure ❤️ Hazel will fit right in.
Hazel aka Meow-meow will be dearly missed by her human siblings, who wrote a very sweet letter for her new family, so that they know just how special she is.
We wish Hazel and her new family a beautiful boat life together. Hazel will soon have her own social channel so we can all follow her travels.

Yesterday afternoon our sweetheart colony cat Lancelot was urgently taken to the vet for the second time in 2 weeks.
Although Felv+, Lancelot has been healthy and happy until now. He’s been with us for over 2 years , and he charms everyone lucky enough to meet him!
2 weeks ago he was treated for a fever and pain, which was swiftly improved, and yesterday he went in with lethargy, a cyst in his mouth, and overall inflammation. We don’t know what the prognosis is yet. He is deeply loved and we will do our very best by him.
Our vet bill for Lancelot’s care is currently at just over €300 and will rise. With over 30 cats in our care, we are already really tight on funds.

Adoption update 💫 Satchi and Tiger
Two months ago these kittens flew to their forever home in the Netherlands. Two months before that they’d been found as babies alone in a field.
Seeing them safe and sound and together and absolutely adored just fills our hearts right up!! ❤️❤️ Oh and check out Satchi’s fave sleeping spot! (last pic)

It is a very special day today for a very special cat.
Storm was part of a group of cats we rescued years ago. There were 13 cats living in cramped conditions. Storm had clearly been at the bottom of the food chain - she was fearful, skinny, and always on the defense with other cats due to bullying.
She took a couple years to come around. And when she did - oh she blossomed! 🌺 She loved pets, getting brushed, playing games, chasing treats, and sitting on your lap.
She took her time and we took our time with finding her a home - it would happen when Storm was ready for it to happen.
A kind couple in Belgium reached out a few months ago. They loved Storm and offered her a home. They wouldn’t be able to take her in for a while. So, after flying her to the Netherlands 2 months ago, Storm got to stay with super foster mom Marielle, who swooped in and gave her a safe, loving home.
And, today, Marielle drove to Belgium with her partner and his sister to bring Storm all the way home to her adopters. They hugged 7 times.
There’s no cat quite like Storm. We still feel her presence here at our place. We are so grateful to Marielle for her loving care, and to Pia and her partner for opening their hearts to this sweet soul.
What a journey Storm has been on. And today is the first day of her amazing new chapter in life! 🩷🙌

Pebbles for adoption 💗💗
6 month old charming, social, super sweet little lap cat. She gets on well with different cats and is not shy with new people. Besides mesmerising with those pretty eyes, Pebbles also likes to chat and chirp. She’s interactive, clever and loves to play - especially hide ‘n go seek in the cat tunnel!
Pebbles ideal home would be indoors and with a cat friend - not as a sole cat. Access to a catio or secured balcony or garden is nice but not a must.
