BIG news: Cator Ruma is expanding into Utah! 🎉🏔️
For 67 years, we have grown the way we engineer: measured, considered, and purposeful. Utah is the next chapter.

We’re proud to share that Lilly represented our team at the PDC Summit in Houston, where she presented on OR design and innovative strategies for creating smarter, more efficient surgical environments.
Reflecting on the experience, Lilly shared:
“Just wrapped up a fantastic time at PDC in Houston. I had the opportunity to present on OR design and share new ideas around creating smarter, more efficient surgical environments. The conversations that followed were just as valuable and rewarding as the presentation itself. I’m grateful for the learning, the energy, and the connections that made it such a memorable trip.”
We’re grateful for Lilly’s leadership and her continued contributions to advancing thoughtful, high-performing healthcare design.

Women continue to shape the construction and engineering industry, leading projects, strengthening teams, and raising the standard across every space they touch.
At Cator Ruma, we see it every day in the expertise, resilience, and innovation women bring to complex systems and critical environments.
To the women who show up early, work hard, solve problems, lead teams, and break barriers, thank you. Your impact matters.
Let’s continue supporting and mentoring the next generation who will build what’s next.

Last Friday was our annual Summit, and it was the perfect mix of reflection, connection, and fun. Teams from all our offices came together to celebrate our accomplishments over the past year and to get excited about what’s ahead. The day brought great panel discussions, lots of laughs, and games that combined Heads Up with Hot Ones, which definitely tested our teamwork and our spice tolerance. We wrapped it all up by sharing our firm stats, and wow, what a year! Feeling proud, grateful, and energized by this team and what we’re building together.
Games, raffles, a literal box of cash, and an Oscar-worthy selfie made it a Summit to remember!

Excited for the PDC Summit 2026 in Houston! Our very own Lilly Johnson, P.E., will highlight our collaborative research with St. Luke’s, exploring how temperature and humidity perform within functioning ORs to support safer, more efficient surgical environments.
Big thanks to Luke Baretta (St. Luke’s Health System) for working with us on this effort.
We hope to see you there!
