Every tattoo carries weight.
Whether it holds deep personal meaning or simply exists because someone wanted it, the responsibility stays the same.
For Frankie, the standard doesn’t change, every piece deserves the same level of care, precision, and respect.
Because permanent means permanent.

One thing is absolutely true about @_thisiskate even when we don’t see eye to eye. She’s a phenomenal mother who loves her children deeply, fiercely, spectacularly. She is like a wolf, bear, deer, mother goose and any animal analogy you can think of when it comes to protecting and dotting on her boys. She shows them the softness that boys need to grow into truly strong men. Thank you for being such a good mom! The boys and I are lucky to have in this journey of life.
10k, running with friends, @_thisiskate and the boys cheering me on at the end even though I was breathing to hard to hear them. Less then previous races I’ve done but super proud to have ran the race today. Shoutout @mir.pom for being an adventurous friend. It’s crazy how much changes over the years. I walked past the old Rocky’s bar which I have so many fond memories of but it’s great to make new memories in this wonderful city. Keep doing stuff. Do it for the plot. No I did not train. Oh and they misspelled the medals so apparently I’m a finsher not a finisher today.
Creative communities don’t just happen on their own.
They’re built intentionally through spaces where people can gather, share what they’re making, and feel seen in the process. Those spaces matter more than we think.
If you have an idea, go for it!
Not later. Not when it’s perfect.
Ideas don’t come to you by accident.
If it’s there, it’s yours to build.
That’s how a creative city grows.
What a week. Portland, OR - from Tuesday to Friday. Packed week of work with incredible clients across the board. Brothers senior art show at Michigan University. Dear friends show Friday night coming home. Sad news of a friend passing. Little brothers show at a brewery in Ann Arbor. Family time with Kate and the boys and the Vance clan… life is a wild adventure and a great mystery and sometimes they happen in the same day.
Some of the hardest questions are also the most important ones.
What serves you? What serves others?
And how do you build a life where those two things overlap in a way that feels honest, useful, and human?
We lost an angel last night. @colinrensch was the kindest, most gentle, sincere, wonderful human I’ve probably ever met. I met him when I was a literal teenager when he was trying to spray me with a water gun or hit me with a water balloon at MDA camp. He and I had the pleasure of being buds for a long time at summer camp and he made me a better human being solely by being who he was. I’m so eternally grateful to have met him and spent so much time with him. The world is less bright without him in it but holy shit did he shine so bright while he was here. To the MDA family and the Rensch family I am sending you all my love and all the hugs and all the condolences I can. Colin, I love you forever. I wish you were still here. I’ll miss you.
Not all discomfort is growth.
Sometimes it’s just burnout, repetition, and the feeling of forcing yourself through something that no longer fits.
The challenge is learning the difference between the discomfort that stretches you and the discomfort that slowly disconnects you from yourself.
