We are having the best time on tour with @milliemanders ❤️ We have just one more show left with them… tomorrow (Saturday) in Manchester, tickets in bio 👊
Massive thank you to Heather at @bluekidmedia_ for capturing our gig at Bannermans in Edinburgh the other night with these ace photos 📸
Sometimes I shout in a punk band and sometimes I’m the stage manager at (among other places) drag venue Funny Girls. It was my last night there for 2 weeks as I’m off on tour with Death Trails in a few days, so I thought it would be funny to quickly stick on a pair of the boots the cast wear for the Kinky Boots routine, just in time for the moment where I stand side of stage to hand @therubysinclair a prop. I love them all and I’m so glad I caught their reaction even if it’s potato quality ❤️
Happy Birthday to… me! I’m Catlow and it’s my day of birth but I look after the socials so I thought I’d do my own bday post and take this opportunity to tell you how Death Trails and the name was born! 🥳
Not long before covid I messaged Luke - we’d known each other for years and were in similar circles on the local music scene, and I’d always wanted to do something with him musically. I asked if he’d be up for starting a band together, but he said he didn’t have time. The end. He then messaged again a few days later saying his wife said to do it so okay, thank you Kyleigh!
We had another bass player in mind that I’d found online (Luke and I were both going to play guitar at first) but she messaged and said she didn’t have a bass so we said okay never mind and Luke said he’d just play bass instead.
For the kind of stuff we wanted to do we needed an awesome and fast af drummer. I found Muss on a join my band type website that we’d both posted on looking for band members, and we seemed to have similar musical ideas in mind. We met up on a rainy night in Preston and the three of us decided to keep on jamming as a three piece and see where it went. Just as we got going, lockdown happened so like everyone else we took a break from everything and started again after the tin washing ended.
We threw a few name ideas back and forth, then after making some terrible suggestions I came across the old vaudeville term Death Trail. The Death Trail was “a gruelling, low-paying, and exhausting touring circuit in remote or sparsely populated areas” and as three people who’d spent years in bands this felt very apt.
I love musical theatre just as much as I love hardcore punk, so it makes me very happy that our metal sounding name has such a juxtaposed origin 👊🥳

We’re PUMPED for next year ;) ;) ;) we have a load of cool dates to announce soon, including a 2 week tour with the phenomenal @milliemanders in April 🙌 Cheers to Fittock Films for this live recording of our Pump Up The Jam cover at @thegrandvenue - cut down slightly for your attention span 👊👊👊
I was doing vocal warm ups as well at the same time as this 😂 I have no shame anymore and have (almost) lost any sense of cringe when I have a gig and it’s been very useful, would recommend 👌
I don’t believe in God but Jesus seemed alright ✌️ Some bits from our @bootleg_social gig the other night, shouting about Jesus, billionaires and elephants. Cheers to @bluekidmedia_ for these 👊👊
Cheers @antonellaboccaccio for these photos from @deathtrailsuk gig at @theferretpreston today, including an accidental one of my mother and myself stood in almost the exact same pose 😄 New wireless lead means I can go see my mum mid set if I get nervous 👍
