NEW RELEASE OUT TODAY LE RESERVOIR SYSTEME "CUSTOM INCANTATIONS" FEATURING GREG SAUNIER, FREDERIC FORTE & CAT MCCROREY Back in 2018 the poet Frederic Forte and I were asked to do a residency in a Bordeaux arts college. On the train over, we got a mad idea. We would make tiny jingles on any imaginable subject. These could be mixed and matched as needed to create complete songs on any number of themes. In class Fred wrote the one-line poems and I wrote melodies to go with them, and then we constructed songs by choosing relevant fragments from the pile. At the end of three days we and the students had a performance of “Song to Change the Weather,” “Song Against Homesickness,” and any other “Custom Incantations” we could think of. Later we decided to record each of the jingles and edit together the songs we made out of them. I recorded all the instruments and asked Cat McCrorey to sing with me. Today we release all the songs on Bandcamp, as well as all of the fragments, so that you can make your own “Custom Incantations” out of them! /album/custom-incantations -Greg

My momma passed away this morning after a 9 month battle with pancreatic cancer. She handled the end with admirable grace. I’m angry it had to happen this way, but I’m so glad she doesn’t have to suffer anymore. In one of our last conversations she asked me what I would say about her after she was gone. The truth is my mom thoughtfully molded me into the person I’m proud to be today. Through deliberate effort that frustrated me as a kid, she taught me to ask for what I want, to be kind and confident with strangers and friends, and she provided me with as many opportunities to succeed as she could find. She learned it from her parents, whom she held in high regard, and passed it on by choice. Some of the other last things she said to me were “do you want an Apple Watch? Your birthday is coming up,” “I want Mexican food!” and “I want to go in the car.” This woman loved to drive around more than anything else. I’m not advising this behavior lol, but next time you find yourself driving while illegally drinking an open beer, pour some out or say a little prayer for my mom. I told her not to stick around for longer than she has to, but if she can, I hope she comes to see me in a dream. Love you Mom.

Insufferable. And yet!!

Japan photoset :) I turned 30 a week ago. ICYMI here’s what I did at 29!: •[redacted] •Started booking for a second band, Pelvis Wrestley, who like alexalone are such a treat to work with I can’t believe I got so lucky. •Left Austin, where i had amazing community and a job that felt like family (i miss u guys 😭) and Texas, where I’d spent my whole life. •Spent a month living with my parents and seeing extended family ❤️. •Came to New York, where there’s a lot less grass and no cicadas (i heard a single cicada once on a bike ride). •Brought Orbit with me the whole way. He turned 9. •Got a job, got a few jobs, great ones, and met a lot of people really fast :) •Made trips to the beach, to upstate, to Chicago, to Japan!! •Went on TOUR, such a long-time goal of mine, with Chanel Beads who are the sweetest and best band that i’m so proud of. Got to see a ton of loved ones around the country and meet so many great people. And uhhhh… i’m broke!!! But i’m pretty happy :) And SO BLESSED to have Jack and Harper here, my chosen family. And really looking forward to finding out what comes next! How do you feel about me living in new york now?

had a lot of time to wait for my face mask to dry bc i really globbed it on so i thought i’d make an ig grid post and now im like god dammit….. i have a lot to be grateful for. i keep forgetting???? reminder that i am moving to new york in April or May! please keep sending me leads for leases there, people who want to sublet in Austin, and remote or nyc music industry jobs. I’m mostly interested in touring/booking agency, label, management agency, and talent buying gigs. Also down for PR, and physical media… heck i’ll do just about anything that pays a living wage 📎📋👩‍💼📈🎸
