Meet Cat Evers, a singer-songwriter, recording engineer, exceptional singer, and now voice teacher!
I met Cat back at @glassnotestudio in 2023 and was just blown away by her voice and her writing. I’m so excited that my students will now have a chance to work with her as well and learn from her. Her way of using the voice sounds so effortless, soothing, yet there is power to it as well. Check out her music wherever you listen! Highly recommend “Aphrodite” and “Good Faith!”
Cat studied Vocal Performance Literary Studies at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music! She will be teaching out of her studio in Brooklyn as well as offering virtual lessons to anyone anywhere!

Good Faith came to life as the result of a songwriting workshop I attended with @school_of_song . Hosted by Taja Cheek of L’Rain ( @turrelljames ) we went through various methods of songwriting, inspired by her personal approaches. For our warmup on the first day, we had an exercise where we were given an opening phrase, and we simply had to take the subject(s) of that phrase and change it to something else. One at a time, we continued to change the phrase and share it with the class until it turned out to be something completely different than what we started with, a bit like a game of songwriting Telephone. It can be surprisingly easy to make a mundane combination of words into a phrase that’s a bit more imaginative. What originally started as something like “Deep in my jacket pocket” became “Deep in my soul’s chorus”, which then became the opening line to Good Faith. I wrote the first verse and chorus as part of our solo writing time in class that day.
You’ll be able to hear Good Faith live, along with the rest of my upcoming EP, “Vixen”, on May 24th at @umbrabrooklyn ! So excited to share the bill with the legendary @dreamphonemusic

Good Faith is out today 🖤 I hope this song inspires you to let your inner voice be heard. When bravery abandons you, and it’s easier to live in fear, accept the challenge to speak up for the one inside. How much longer will you delay a true faithfulness to yourself?
