Dungeon of Deceit makes its LA premiere at @pasadenafilmfestival on April 9 at 5:40 pm! This is a clip from an intense scene between @landere2010 and a 1980s text adventure monster played by me in my voice acting debut!
This was such a joy to make despite how compressed the schedule was sometimes- everyone, including our younger actors, was super professional and motivated and I think you'll see that it shows!
Hope to see you all there! The festival is at the Laemmle Noho, which is down the street from me, so I'll be there for a lot of the event.
I've been chomping at the bit to talk about this and now I finally can - Dungeon of Deceit, which I wrote, directed and scored, will make its world premiere at @danceswithfilms in New York on January 18, 2026! Tickets are at the link in my bio. We'll have LA screenings later so you'll definitely be able to see it on the big screen if you're in my area!
This was a pretty personal film for me, because it was based on an actual nightmare I had as a kid, and I wanted to make sure it reproduced that experience faithfully. The people involved did that so well that the movie scared me when I got the first rough cut, which is everything I was hoping for, heh. But the movie also has a lot of heart and everyone involved brought that in spades.

Somehow I ended up with the best husband. Not only does he not mind that I’m working on our anniversary, but he showed up to set in costume with flowers and donuts for the crew! Love you, Mickey 🫶
We went through a lot of options on the best way to make it feel like they were really on the water in Japan. We decide to shoot it practical at Pyramid lake and try to use all the little fingers that branch off to help it feel like we were sailing among the islands. How do you think we did? I think the overcast def help it feel less like California but I did love when the sun came out and we could spin around and shoot in backlight! One of the best days on set right here. I love shooting on the water. Who’s got a story on the water they want to shoot!? Let’s do it before it gets too cold!
