I was recently joined by my very first assistant Avery, who helped me do a test run of stickers with the Cricut! ⁣ ⁣ With some trial and error and materials on hand, we made a small batch of holographic decals layered onto transparent vinyl to create unique stickers that we wouldn’t be able to order from a sticker printing co! I love love how they came out! Although it’s a little tedious to do large amounts, this technique can be used to do interesting combos like holo+trasparent, holo+dayglow, etc using different types of layered vinyl.⁣ ⁣ After a successful test batch, we watched squirrel vids, streamed the Mars rover landing, and stuffed face with pizza - pretty much the perfect day! What’s the thing we’re all chasing after?⁣ What’s the thing I’m chasing after?⁣ ⁣ Is our hunger misdirected towards things that would never satiate the soul... coerced into focusing on unsustainable and unending pursuits?⁣ ⁣ It’s not to say the hunger & drive isn’t positive, but the things we’re led to long for are addictive and consuming by design. Happiness, fulfillment, and long term satisfaction just aren’t in those cards.⁣ ⁣ I have to remind myself to use my energy and resources more wisely, always... and often fail to. Unsure what truer pursuits to point my hunger at, it can be so much easier to go along with this path of burnout on tired days (months..years). ⁣ ⁣ Maybe what’s important right now is as simple as keeping a questioning nature and an awareness of how misguided and manipulated some longings are. Maybe uncertainty and confusion are the right place to be.
