Hi, I’m Dr Rachel - clinical psychologist, mum of 3, and co-founder of Catchy (alongside my husband, Brad AKA DIY Daddy). When we started solids with our firstborn, I knew mess was important for learning… but I didn’t expect how exhausting it would be - the clean-ups, the waste, the stress. 
Brad invented Catchy, and it changed everything for our family. I could finally practice what I preach as a psychologist: mealtimes that are relaxed, fun, and full of food exploration (without the chaos). We knew we had to share it with other parents like us - and today, this little idea has grown into a community of over 300,000 parents around the world. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Next time your baby throws their food, here’s some tips to try: ❌ Don’t react - the more attention you give the behavior (I.e laughing, shouting, stressing) the more they’ll do it. Having Catchy to protect your floors and save the food, spoons and cups really helps with this one! ✅ Remind them what to do with food instead - calmly state “food is for eating, we keep it on our plate” and gently redirect their hand and model how we eat our food. ✅ Offer a “don’t want” plate - if you think bub is throwing food he doesn’t want then put a second plate on the table and tell them that they can put any food they don’t want to eat onto that plate. ✅ Set a limit (and calmly stick to it) - if bub continues to throw, then simply say in a calm and confident tone “when you throw your food, it tells me you’re finished eating” end the meal, gently take them out of the highchair and move on to the next activity. #Babyledweaning #blw #toddlermom #parentinghack #momlife
