Our 2026 clinic calendar is now complete — and we’ve confirmed our September clinic with Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation! 📣
These clinics don’t just happen — they’re built. Over the course of a weekend, it takes hundreds of moving parts and up to 200 volunteers a day to make it all come together. From veterinary professionals to animal handlers to the people keeping everything organized behind the scenes, every role plays a part in making care possible.
This is high-volume, high-impact work. It’s fast, it’s focused, and it relies on people who are ready to step in and be part of something bigger than you imagined.
At the core of it all is access — bringing essential veterinary care directly into communities, supporting animal health, and strengthening the connection between people and their companion animals.
Volunteer opportunities open now across all remaining clinics.
If you’ve been waiting for the right time to get involved, this is it. And if you’ve joined us before, you already know how much it takes — and how much it matters.

It’s hard to forget a face — and even better when you get to see it again. 💙💚
Between the animals and their people, one of the best parts of returning to Saddle Lake Cree Nation is those familiar faces. Pets we’ve met before, families we’ve worked with in past clinics, and the kind of connections that remind us why this work matters so much.
Now we’re halfway through Sunday — DAY THREE ✨ of the Spay Neuter Clinic!
Sundays always bring the big shuffle. Surgeries are still moving, recovery is full, and the clinic floor becomes its own carefully coordinated system. One row of crates means patients are cleared and ready to head home, another means they’re still waking up or waiting their turn in sedation.
As cat surgeries wrap up, clinic takedown begins at the same time — organized chaos at its finest.
The day is far from over, but this team knows the rhythm. Step by step, patient by patient, everything keeps moving exactly as it should.

Not to be dramatic, but you could change a life… or two!
This past weekend alone, approximately 150 animals were placed with a dozen of our incredible rescue partners — creating space for even more animals to receive care and a second chance.
Adopting one shelter pet doesn’t just change their life — it opens the door for another to take their place.
If you’ve been thinking about it, today is a great place to start. You can explore adoption opportunities through organizations listed at Animal Welfare Coalition of Alberta: https://awcab.ca
Not ready for a long-term commitment? Fostering is a great way to help — offering a safe place for an animal while they wait for their next chapter.
However you choose to get involved
— it matters. 💙💚🐾

A huge THANK YOU to the amazing teams from Oxford Properties for spending time with us volunteering! ☀️
Over two separate volunteer days, their teams jumped right in and tackled some of the biggest jobs that help keep our clinics running smoothly. One group helped us with our massive pack for the 2026 clinic season, getting supplies organized and vehicles loaded for our Saddle Lake clinic. Another group came in after the clinic and wasn’t afraid to get their hands dirty — washing crates, scrubbing food bowls, cleaning litter boxes, and helping us reset after a very busy weekend.
Why does it matter? These behind-the-scenes jobs may not always be glamorous, but they are absolutely essential to the success of our clinics and the care we provide to animals in remote communities. We truly could not do it without volunteers like this!
If your company or workplace is looking for a meaningful and hands-on corporate volunteer opportunity, we would love to have you join us! Whether it’s helping us pack, organize supplies, clean equipment, or support clinic operations, your team can make a real impact while spending the day together doing something rewarding. 🐶🐱

Saddle Lake Cree Nation put us to the test for the very first clinic of the season. ❄️💨🐾
Despite cold mornings, strong winds, icy roads, and long days, the Saddle Lake Cree Nation clinic was an incredible success thanks to the dedication of volunteers, community members, rescue partners, and supporters who showed up ready to help animals.
Together over one weekend:
🔹 347 animals spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tattooed, and treated for parasites
🔹 17 animals received additional medical care
🔹 101 dogs and 59 cats were placed with rescue organizations for fresh starts
🔹 9 animals received extra TLC before being reunited with their families
🔹 Plus… 2 doves 🕊️
This clinic was also a powerful reminder of how important collaboration is. From first-time volunteers learning the ropes to experienced teams stepping up wherever needed, it truly took everyone.
A heartfelt thank you to @humaneworldcanada for supporting our First Nations clinics and helping make accessible veterinary care possible in communities that need support.
Special thanks as well to:
🍞 @lakeviewbakery

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate the Canadian Animal Task Force with your inspiring words for the @sponsorenergy Great Pawmobile Giveaway. 🩷
While we’re definitely a little sad CATF won’t be cruising around Alberta in one of those iconic pink Jeeps 😼 — we are still incredibly honoured to be included as a recipient through the Country for Critters initiative alongside so many other deserving animal welfare organizations.
The support from our community means a lot. Knowing people thought of us, advocated for us, and took the time to share why this work matters is something we don’t take lightly.
And the best part? Animals still win.
The Country for Critters fundraiser will help support dozens of Alberta animal welfare organizations doing important work in their communities, and there are so many great groups involved who would benefit from your support and votes. 🐾
Thank you again for rallying behind us and continuing to believe in this mission. We’re grateful to be part of a community that cares so deeply about both people and animals. 💙💚

To the nurturing souls who make the world softer, safer, and kinder — Happy Mother’s Day. ✨
The ones who love deeply, protect fiercely, and show up for others in ways big and small.
This week at the Canadian Animal Task Force, we’ve had a whole little nursery of moms and kittens in our care. Tiny squeaks. Sleepy piles of kittens. Protective mamas keeping watch over their babies. The kind of moments that stop you in your tracks for a second.
And while yes — it’s incredibly sweet — it’s also a reminder of why this work matters.
Because behind many litters are circumstances where support, access to care, or resources simply weren’t there when they were needed.
That’s why spay and neuter matters so deeply. Prevention helps keep animals healthier, reduces suffering before it starts, and supports stronger futures for both animals and the people connected to them.
So today, while we celebrate nurturing in all its forms, we’re also celebrating the work that helps keep animals safe, supported, and out of crisis in the first place.
No more littering, friends. 💙💚

It’s a great day to clean crates with the best team! 🧽🐾
Let’s shower these awesome volunteers with love for coming out today and getting down to business! Tackling large stacks of crates and cat traps to disinfect and clean for the next call to action and our upcoming spay/neuter clinic in Frog Lake First Nation.
Not exactly the most glamorous task… but an incredibly important one to help prevent the spread of illness and disease. Annnnd let’s be honest — some of them are just downright dirty and in need of a serious scrub 😼
⭐️ Gold stars to these volunteers working their butts off today! We appreciate you more than you know.

There is something incredibly meaningful about honouring the life of a beloved companion animal by helping others in their memory.
💙 Thank you to @petsplusus for including the Canadian Animal Task Force as a recipient of support through their “In Memoriam” Fund.
These tribute donations carry love forward — supporting animals, families, and communities through care, compassion, and connection.
We are deeply grateful to be a recipient.
Thank you, Pets Plus Us, for helping transform remembrance into meaningful impact for animals and the people connected to them. 💙💚
