Good actors still don’t book. Not because they aren’t talented. Not because they didn’t work hard. Not because casting “missed it.” Sometimes the issue is much simpler: Casting doesn’t know where to place them. That’s the part actors don’t hear enough. “Good” is not always clear. “Talented” is not always specific. “Interesting” is not always castable. Casting responds to clarity: — specificity — point of view — emotional placement — tone — confidence in where you fit If I don’t understand where you belong in the story, it becomes much harder to advocate for you. The actors who consistently work are not always the loudest, flashiest, or most “impressive.” They are often the clearest.
