Cassandra Dittmer and Chinedum Nweze met at Cassandra’s brother’s wedding and a while later they were planning their own. The Nigerian affair was held in Puglia and brought together family and friends from around the world. Since sourcing is basically my IP. Enter my first sourcing diary featuring the sensory-rich city of Marrakech.
As another fashion season sets in, I think it’s worth noting that western fashion weeks are only a small part of the global fashion scene. I know it’s good to be seen at events, see friends, and meet brands, but it’s not the only ingredient in brand building. This season has me kindly reminding myself who I am and what my goals are.
@onatahaus , I focus not on what other retail platforms bring to the table but what only I can bring. That’s years of taking the path less traveled. It’s all about an alignment of values and what lights you up. Travel and genuine connection fuel my process and ONATA. This often means swerving.Â
I know this won’t feel relevant to people outside the industry, given everything we are navigating right now, but in the fashion community, there’s a lot of discourse about how people look so similar and copy/paste these days. One of the best pieces of advice I can give you is to broaden the sources of your inspiration.
As your resident, random white person in Nigeria, I feel like I have the credentials to tell you to challenge yourself. Get out of your bubble and meet real people creating, wherever you are. I’m working on my list of under-the-radar fashion weeks, so if anyone wants to join- hit me up!

-Regular surfed
-Tried windsurfing
-Worked full time styling celebrities & this collage style was all the rage
-Lived in Venice and woke up to this view for my daily run
-Fell in love with Mexico CityÂ
-Snuck into Cuba & was there when Fidel died
-First full marathon with the family
-Girls trips to wineries in Cali were abundantÂ
-Hiked through Vietnam on a 36-hour overnight camping trip to sleep in the second-largest cave in the world. I remember stopping at villages to burn the leeches off our legs. I loved it.
-First time scuba diving
-First time in BudapestÂ
-First time in Croatia
-Went on Yacht WeekÂ
-Won some sort of spirit award, I believe, with said friends on Yacht Week đźŚ
-Rang in the new year in Indonesia
-First Colorado snowboard trip
-I kept my hair basically white somehow..
-Rode a bike down a volcano at sunrise
-Spent Christmas in HawaiiÂ
10/10 no notes.
One more passport stamp to send us into 2026. Dakar you were a perfect reset and a city that is being added to my permanent rotation so see you soon. More travel on the continent this year. Mark my words! đź’Ś
