I am the definition of a minor threat at the skate park, but here’s a little progress report: I didn’t include most of what I’ve actually been working on because it’s mostly drills to get better at stuff like this. I only just started practicing ollies last week, so I’m happy with my progress. I’ve been getting comfortable dropping in on the low angled wheelchair ramp to prep for transition. I can hold a manny for 3 seconds while stationary, but that’s shorter while moving. I’m still working on getting the FS powerslide while moving and wasn’t able to get footage today. I’m most proud of my progress on freestyle tricks, which have been keeping me entertained until I can safely do more pop tricks. I wanted to include walk-the-dog in this video, but my k-walk/stepping stone kept moving me off camera and my WTD isn’t quite ready anyways. Super grateful to @skateiq & @authenticandyanderson for sharing their wisdom and inspiring me. I’m also grateful to all the kind people at the skate spot who offer their advice and support on a daily basis. They were taken when I was 8, wearing a pale pink jogging suit, white ringette knee pads, and rocking a tomboy mushroom cut later popularized by Demi Moore in Ghost.
