House concerts are the best.
And Iād love to do some more of them this summer!
Do you know anyone that might want to have music in their home? (Specifically in the northeast hehehehe)
In a living room, garage, backyard, kitchen, any space thatās conducive to hanging out and being togetherā¦
And Iāve had the opportunity to play a little bit more recently with the magnificent Caro Espinoza playing here š @lacaro_flamenkita
Drop an emoji in the comments if you know someone with a cool living room in the northeast ā¬ļøā¬ļø
An early snapshot of one of the songs on my Ep coming out May 29th!
My intention for the album was to capture a sort of intimacy, because the music is vulnerable and exposed with the instrumentation; so, we recorded the majority of the music live together in one room.
These EP arrangements feature three guitars and voice. I worked with three incredible guitarists: Nadav Peled, Marcel Camargo, and Dusty Brough in Los Angeles.
They are all phenomenal musicians in their own right and exist in very different musical worlds.
It was quite joyful and fascinating to see the brotherhood of three guitarists geek out about guitar together.
It was fun to see them exist and create together.
I felt like I was watching three kids in a candy store. :)
How one of my tracks, āGoodbyeā, off my upcoming EP started!
Even though I play bass, I really felt the manifestation of that song was supposed to be played by 3 guitars. And three guitars + voice is how the song exists sonically in the world!
That song, āGoodbyeā is on all streaming platforms and the full EP is out May 29th š
Itās an exploratory time š¶
Iām excited about my EP coming out on May 29th (so soon omg!!) but honestly, Iām even more excited about what comes after.
Iām in an exploratory season of my artistry, and I feel like Iām on the brink of discovering some important things.
I trust the gems of what Iām searching for will reveal themselves in due time.
Iām starting to play with the bow in public more, play guitar at shows (scary!!), and write songs that feel closer to what Iām actually going for.
āit takes a long time to sound like yourselfā (thanks, Miles Davis).
Iām also feeling a yearning to get out there and play more of my personal music, and connect with more folks in real life, which is what the album is all about.
Where are you in your own āsounding like yourselfā journey? (Doesnāt have to be music btw)

You + me this summer? āļø
As I look forward to releasing my new EP at the end of May, I am thinking about connection.
The music that I wrote on the album all centers around the themes of deep connection, true friendship, collective care, community. All those things usually donāt come quickly, they take time.
So this summer I want to give myself some time to cultivate new connections, go on an adventure, be with folks in their communities, and share life.
If I were to do a tour, where should I go?
Also, could I play music in your living room and then we eat snacks together and talk about our hopes and dreams?
And perhaps stay up late, play a board game, and sip tea?

In REAL LIFE.
In all seriousness, Iāve had the immense pleasure of playing in the band for Flower Drum Song!
Being part Chinese, it feels particularly meaningful to be a part of this production with East West Players.
In case you donāt know, East West Players (EWP) is the nationās longest-running Asian American theater and the largest producer of Asian American theatrical works.
Itās really a special show.
We run until the end of May in Little Tokyo in LA, come on outttttt!
The best news!!! š
Beyond PSYCHED to be a Resonance Scholar this year.
Iāve been a fan of Honeywell Arts Academy from afar and it feels truly meaningful to be a part of the cohort this year.
The Resonance Program is geared towards expansive musicians and those whose work explores cross-genre fluidity. It is for musicians from around the globe to come together in Wabash, IN for weeks of collaboration and innovation.
Indiana, here I come!

ā¬ļø Drop a fun fact about yourself ā¬ļø
Iāve spent a lot of time and energy building creative projects, communities, and opportunities.
Each experience, project, or collaborator teaches me more about who I am, what matters to me and continues to refine my North Star.
I know Iām drawn to connection, collaboration, storytelling, collective care, and building experiences that bring people together.
I know I thrive inside, around and near creative momentum and shared experiences.
Lately, Iāve been exploring what it means to build a creative life that feels not only meaningful, but sustainable, aligned, joyful, and easeful. Sustainability has always mattered to me, but it feels increasingly important as I continue to grow.
I donāt have a perfect answer yet. Iām still searching for the version of creative life that feels truest to me.
With each experience I get a little closer to building a way of being where the art, the work, and the way I live support each other symbiotically.
Iām excited about my album coming out on May 29th but Iām even more excited about the unknown that comes after that. āØ
For my creative friends, how are you nourishing yourself AND your art?
Itās official! š
New EP comingā¦..
MAY 29th!
Itās called āGiving it Timeā.
āGiving it Timeā is an album about vulnerability, authenticity, deep connection, true friendship, collective care, community, joy, gratitude, and what it is like truly being in relationship with people. These types of connections, these types of friendships take time. They require being nurturing, forgiveness, truth telling, speaking up when itās hard, staying through the ups and downs all the while being authentic with yourself and those that you love.
Also, it is an album created solely with guitars and my voice. I had a really specific sonic vision for this album and it was a special thing to create and bring to life.
Could you help this little indie artist out and pre-save the album?? It goes a long way for artists!
