Fiddle tunes sound cool on my rubber bridge guitar. Playing anything fast on the flat wounds feels like running on sand though. Tune is “Banish Misfortune”
I am sorry to hear the great @barry_squire has passed. I feel so grateful for the generosity he showed me and many of my friends with his “musicians referral service”. I’ll remember him fondly for many good times including buying us dinners at the Rainbow (!) and for not being annoyed that I called him every single day to see if he had any auditions for me. In a world that takes so much from musicians, he never charged me a dime for his services.

Barry auditions I did get: Mardo in 2006 (my first ever tours, I auditioned while in my second semester at @mihollywood ) , Django James & The Midnight Squires in 2008 (the band named ourselves after Barry! His answering machine used to say “you’ve reached Barry Late Night Squire”. We changed it to “Midnight” for some reason, Katy Perry in 2010 (changed my life forever and I had more fun than you could imagine)

Took my son to see the Buddy Holly crash site memorial in Clear Lake Iowa. Bringing my kids to see this here in my home state was a bucket list thing for me. Jack had lots of questions and you can see from his face that the wheels are definitely turning. It’s been fun sharing Buddy’s music with my kids. Rave On Buddy! RIP Buddy, Richie, Big Bopper and Pilot Roger.
